Flight Training & Discovery Flights
Cenla Helicopters is a Part 61 flight school that efficiently trains students one-on-one to get you the FAA license you're looking for! We use Robinson Helicopters,the industry standard in helicopter flight training. Robinson Helicopters provide excellent reliability and responsive handling.
We offer certification in the following: Private Pilot Helicopter, Commercial Pilot Helicopter, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Helicopter, Instrument Flight Instructor & ATP (Air Transport Pilot) Helicopter.
Private Pilot License FAA Requires 40 Hours In-Helicopter Minimum
Industry Average, 55 Hours
Instrument Rating
• Minimum 15 instrument hours in a helicopter if holds previous airplane instrument rating
• 40 total hours instrument time
• Written, oral & flight exam with designated pilot examiner (FAA)
Commercial Pilot License FAA Certification Minimum
• Commercial Pilot Knowledge Exam
• 150 hours of flight time as a pilot that consists of at least:
• 100 hours in powered aircraft, of which 50 hours must be in helicopters
• 100 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) flight time which include:
35 hours in helicopter and
10 hours in cross country flight in helicopters
5 hours of night flying
5 hours operating a helicopter by sole reference to instruments

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
• Fundamentals of Instruction Knowledge Exam
• Certified Flight Instructor Knowledge Exam
• Advanced training in all maneuvers required to pilot a helicopter
• Flight test with a designated pilot examiner.
Private Pilot Add-On Rating
• 30 hours of flight time in helicopters, including:
• 20 hours of flight time with a Certified Flight Instructor
• 10 hours of solo flight time
• 3 hours of "Cross Country" training
• 3 hours of night training
• No private pilot knowledge exam required
• Oral examination and check ride with designated examiner
Commercial Pilot Add-On Rating
• Dual instruction mastering all maneuvers to commercial pilot standards
• Additional dual cross country night training
• 35 hours of Pilot-In-Command (PIC) Time
• No knowledge exam required
• Oral examination and check ride with designated examiner
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP-H)
• Fine tuning your instrument skills
• Minimum 1,200 hours helicopter time
• Written, oral & flight exam with designated pilot examiner (FAA)
